Sta. Cruz Parish
Santa Cruz was visita of Lumban and became independent in 1602 with Fr. Gabriel Castro as the first parish priest. The town was transferred to a new site in 1608. In that year Fr. Antonio de Llave constructed a church of stone. In 1672, Fr. Miguel Perciva added transepts. In 1850, Fr. Juan Antonio Marzo renovated the church nave and the woodwork. Destroyed by fire on 26 January 1945, the church was reconstructed in 1948.
Heritage Features: Most of the reconstructed historic building is still standing though remodeled. |
