Two approaches

Northern Approach:
Begin at Ortigas/ EDSA (Robinson’s Galleria), drive east to Antipolo or Begin at Cubao, take Aurora Blvd., Take Marcos Highway to Cainta, and Sumulong Ave to Antipolo

From Antipolo, retrace route to Cainta, Taytay, Angono, and Binangonan or skip Cainta, etc, take Teresa route to intersection that leads to Morong and Baras.

Note: To ease traffic new roads have been opened that do not pass through the center of some towns. These roads connect Cainta and Angono, bypassing Taytay; Angono and Cardona, bypassing Binangonan; Morong and Pilillia, bypassing Baras and Tanay. If you plan to visit some but not all the sites in the itinerary or are pressed for time, take this route. Sites in CAPITAL LETTERS are recommended, must see, stops.

PART I 
Antipolo to Pagsanjan or vice versa
SITES SUMMARY OF HERITAGE FEATURES
Antipolo Image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, given by Gov. Gen. Niño de Tabora to the Jesuits in 1626; image enshrined in church 1632.
Cainta Church built 1715, rebuilt after World War II.
Taytay Church built 1630, traces remain.
Angono 18th century church, renovated.

Town of artists: Nemiranda Studio, Jose Blanco Museum, Botong Francisco, Lucio San Pedro, Balaw-Balaw Restaurant and Art Center of Digon Vocalan.

Angono petroglyphs.

Binangonan Church built 1792-1800, renovated.

Vicente Manansala historical landmark.

MORONG Facade built 1850-53, restored.

Convento now a school. Morong High School building, constructed 1881-83, originally used as the capitol of Morong, while it was district capital, 1884-96.

BARAS Church built 1682-86.

Typical church, convento, plaza complex, convento now priest residence and school.

TANAY Church built 1773-83.

Preserved interiors with rococo altars, and charming Stations of the Cross. Convento now a school. Ask parish office to show old church books.

Pililla Church built 1673, renovated.
Mabitac Church built on a hill, renovated 1962-76.
Pangil Church built 1611, renovated 1849-51. Remains integrated into a new structure.
PAKIL Church built 1732-67, repaired after 1937 earthquake.

Preserved interiors. Virgin de Turumba; Turumba festival;. Convento. Bukal ng Birhen. Birthplace of composer Marcelo Adonay. Town is noted for carved toothpicks. Workshops have expanded their products to include Christmas decor and knick knacks.

PAETE Church built 1717. Repaired after 1937 earthquake. 

Decorative facade, heavy handed restoration of the altars and interior. New additions of colored resin windows and decorations on the side entrance. Convento, now a school. Town is noted for wood carving and taka (papièr mâché).

Longos Church built late 18th century. 19th century altar, plaza.
Lumban Church renovated 1850, repaired after 1880 earthquake.

Fluvial procession on the feast of St. Sebastian, 20 January. Noted for embroidery, esp. of barong.

PART II
 Los Baños to Pagsanjan or vice versa
PAGSANJAN Colonial church 1690. greatly renovated.

Town has many 19th and early 20th-century bahay na bato, entrance arch to town built in the 19th century. Pagsanjan Municipal building site of a 19th century tribunal for the Gremio de naturales, reconstructed 1951-55.

Gateway to the Cavinti-Pagsanjan Rapids.

Pila Church built 1800.

Colonial plaza, church and houses.

Pila Museum.

Calamba José Rizal’s birthplace and 19th century residence, restored 1951 and for the 1896-98 Centennial.
Sta. Cruz Church built 1678, renovated 1850, reconstructed 1948.

Capital of Laguna.

Ba-é Church built 1804, damaged during World War II, rebuilt 1953.
Los Baños Church built 1790, repaired 1880. Nothing significant left of ancient baths.
Southern Approach:
Begin at Makati, take South Superhiway, Exit to Los Baños

Approximate travel time, Makati to Los Baños: 2 hrs.; Los Baños to Pagsanjan: 1.5 hrs (non-stop).
